25 January 2018 | Mr. Ziad Hayek, Secretary General of the HCP, met with a delegation of the Foreign Trade Advisors of France (CCFL) – Lebanon Chapter headed by the group’s chairman, Mr. Christian Besse and accompanied by the chief of regional economic services at the French Embassy in Lebanon, Mr. Jacques De La Jugie and Business France’s coordinator Ms. Mary Maamari.
The meeting aimed at highlighting Lebanon’s position in terms of its PPP program in light of the recently enacted PPP law. Mr. Hayek presented the main provisions of the law and potential projects which could be tendered on a PPP basis. He also emphasized PPPs’ expected benefits for Lebanon in terms of job creation and economic growth. In addition, Mr. Hayek answered the delegation’s questions regarding dispute resolution and the possibility of resorting to international arbitration as per the PPP Law’s provisions.
